What If?

Children’s Video

WHAT IF

Birds could swim and fishes flew

The sky was grey and the clouds were blue

What If

Man was woman and woman was man

You think we would understand

What If

The world was flat and you were round

You’d bounce all over the dirty old ground

What If

The birds and the bees couldn’t sing anymore

You think we would understand

CHORUS:   You gotta put your trust in Jesus

You gotta put your trust in the Lord

When the world seems crazy and upside down

You gotta put your trust in the Lord

What If

Little boys were bald and girls had no curls

And puppy dog tails were all in a twirl

What If

The butterfly couldn’t fly anymore

You think we would understand

What If

The sun didn’t shine and the rain didn’t fall

And there was no snow to make snowballs

What If

The spring didn’t come and the flowers didn’t grow

You think we would understand

CHORUS:   You gotta put your trust in Jesus

You gotta put your trust in the Lord

When the world seems crazy and upside down

You gotta put your trust in the Lord

CHORUS:   You gotta put your trust in Jesus

You gotta put your trust in the Lord

When the world seems crazy and upside down

You gotta put your trust in the Lord

The Purpose of Our Lives (Part 1 of 5)

One time or another we all pause to question the meaning of life. We ask such questions as: “Why am I here?”; “How did I get here?”; “What is the purpose of my life?” “What does the future hold for me?”; and many more.

In this 5-part series of “The Purpose of Our Lives” these questions, and several others, will be answered as we look through the Word of God, the bible, which is the only book that supplies the answers to such mysteries.

Below is a hymn written by Wayne & Sandra. Unfortunately, Sandra recently suffered a concussion and had to wear sunglasses during her performance.
Hope you enjoy it!

The Gift of Salvation

Ever wonder what happens to us when we die? Do we live on in eternity for ever, and if so, where will we dwell? Or, once we die is that the end of all things and we no longer exist anywhere? If there is a place called heaven, how do we get there? What is the alternative to heaven? This message will answer these questions, and give you an assurance of what awaits us when our lives here on earth are over.

Understanding Forgiveness

In this episode of a Point to Ponder, Pastor Wayne has prepared a video that focuses on what forgiveness is really all about. Many Christians, especially those who are young in their faith, do not have a clear understanding of what it means to forgive another person. You will be surprised by certain things that God has to teach us about what is required of us to forgive someone who has done us wrong. Did you know there is one thing that an individual must do before receiving your forgiveness?
I pray God will bless you as He reveals His truths.

Seeking the Truth

At the time of the birth of Christ, there were three Magi who sought to find where Christ was born.

Magi were priests of an ancient Persian religion – a religion that, at times, used the stars to assist them in seeking the answers to the mysteries of this world.

In searching for Christ the Messiah, they followed the stars, step by step, in seeking God’s will, that was leading them to where the Christ child was born.

With very little to go on, and the challenge of trying to know and carry out the will of God, their one and most important thing they had going for them was that they were “seeking the TRUTH.”  And this is why their journey to find the Messiah was successful.

Many believers struggle to know God’s will. But the Magi had a secret in doing this.

You don’t have to know what lies ahead of you, you never will. But instead, set your heart on finding the “Truth,” and in doing so you will figure out God’s will for your life.

Seeking Christ is seeking the truth.
Seeking the truth is seeking Christ.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man shall come to the Father but through me.” (John 14:6). Following the ‘Way’ (Christ), will lead you to the ‘Truth’ (Christ), and in finding the ‘Truth,” (Christ), you find “Life.” (Christ).

Today we live in a world that survives on lies and other evil tools. But in the mist of all this evil walks the “Truth,”  Jesus Christ!  And Jesus is the only truth there is to trust and follow. For the Lord said, “Trust in the Lord your God with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall make your path straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6).

All the world has to offer will lead you to a “dead end.”  “All God has to offer will lead you to truth, that leads to eternal life.” (Jesus Christ”).

AMEN!

Hebrews Chapter 1 Quiz

There is no agreement by Biblical scholars on who actually wrote the book of Hebrews. For simplicity and easy access, I have added the quizzes on Hebrews under the Epistles of Paul, who many have considered to be the author.

What is clear by the author, is that many Jewish converts to Christianity were being persecuted and encouraged to reverse their course by those Jews who did not accept Jesus Christ, as the Son of God. The book’s author appeals to these Jewish Christians to stay the course and to move on beyond the elementary teachings of Christianity.

The author is adamant that Jesus is superior to the angels; Jesus is superior to Moses; Jesus’ sacrifice and priesthood is far superior to the Old Covenant sacrifices performed by the Levitical high priests; and Jesus is the mediator of a new and better Covenant.

By focusing squarely on accepting the superiority of the only Son of God, Jesus Christ, believers will produce faith, self-discipline, and exhibit a visible, true, spiritual love.

Here Comes the Bridegroom

Matthew 25:1-10

There is an old Jewish tradition regarding marriage. When a man decided to get married, according to Jewish custom, he had to travel from his home to the home of his bride-to- be. No matter how far she lived from him he would still make the trip. Once there, he would marry his bride, and a celebration would take place, lasting sometimes for a whole week. Then, they would return to his home where he and his bride would begin their new life together.

This tradition was symbolic to the coming of Christ (the bride groom) for His bride (the church-all believers). Scripture tells us that the day will come when Jesus Christ, as the bridegroom, will return for His bride (the church) to take her back to His home to live forever with Him.

The bride, knowing her groom was coming, did not know exactly when her groom would arrive, only that he was on the way. The bride had to be ready and waiting for her love.

So, it is for us, the church, the bride. We must be ready and waiting for our bridegroom. We do not know exactly when He will arrive, but we do know He is coming for us, the church, His bride.

Here comes the bridegroom!

Are you ready to meet your bridegroom, Jesus Christ?

Amen!
